With extensive experience and a comprehensive approach to complex competition issues and EU regulation, CCA's specialised team offers legal support to its public and private clients.
We provide answers in all areas of application of European Union law and competition rules in Portugal, namely in matters of State non-compliance, State aid and implementation of competition rules.
We also assist our clients in merger control procedures; agreements between competitors and vertical co-operation between companies; abuses of a dominant position, abuses of economic dependence and individual practices that restrict trade (including selling at a loss or refusing to sell).
In addition, CCA's European Union and Competition Law team designs and implements compliance programmes aimed, in general, at regular monitoring of companies' commercial activity, identifying and preventing any risks of non-compliance with competition legislation; private enforcement actions, both before the Portuguese Competition Authority and the European Commission, as well as litigation before European courts and national courts (including legal proceedings brought before arbitral tribunals).
In terms of European Union law, we emphasise our experience in matters such as structural funds, the common agricultural policy and the free movement of people, goods, services and capital.
