"Is accompanying a child with Trisomy 21 justified?" was the question addressed to the Labour Department, about what is provided for in the law for the worker who has to provide assistance to a child with special needs.
According to the experts, "a worker is entitled to 30 days a year to care for a child with disabilities, regardless of his/her age, provided that that the assistance is considered to be unavoidable and indispensable (...) the absence will be considered justified, but will however result in the loss of remuneration".
