CCA ONTIER's Labor Department, coordinated by the Associate Pedro Antunes, clarifies to Jornal Económico the essential rights of the workers, in a test that intends to evaluate their knowledge on this matter.
'Can a worker who has wages in arrears quit? Yes. The worker can always quit. However, in the event of just cause, the employee can immediately terminate the contract and, once the fault of timely payment of the remuneration is extended for a period of 60 days, is just cause, the reason why the worker can dismiss immediately and shall also be entitled to compensation.
