CCA was the law firm selected to assist Dan Cake’s shareholders in the process of transferring the Portuguese company to Biscuit International (BI), one of the leading industrial pastry companies in the European market.
Carlos Cruz, CCA's Founding Partner, and Sara Reis, CCA's Partner and Head of the Corporate/M&A Department, are part of the team that assisted with the transfer.
The French company, controlled by Platinum Equity, a North American global investment firm, has made several strategic acquisitions over the past recent years, having acquired Aviateur in the Netherlands in 2019, Arluy in Spain (2018), Stroopwafel in Co. in the Netherlands (2018), NFF in the United Kingdom (2018) and A&W in Germany (2017). With the completion of the Dan Cake purchase, the group expects to produce around 200 thousand tonnes of cookies and waffles in 20 factories in the European market.
