In Portugal, many companies have already taken action to try to mitigate the effects of the conflict and support refugees fleeing Ukraine, either by donating money to NGOs, such as the Red Cross or Médicos sem Fronteiras, or by donating essential goods. To cross the needs with the offer of aid, the platform "We Help Ukraine" was born days after the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, ensuring that all resources are used and reach those who need it most. Speaking to Visão magazine, Rita Trabulo, CCA's Director of Innovation and Knowledge, explains how CCA became associated with this initiative.
"Until now we have mainly provided legal support to those who need to travel, talking to consulates, helping with the necessary documentation for travel authorizations. Then, when they arrive here, we can help with work contracts, for example, or with rental contracts," says the Director.
Ukraine Help, a task force developed by CCA to help those seeking to leave Ukraine and come to Portugal, "brings together volunteers from various areas, particularly immigration, who are available to respond to requests for help. Whether from people who are here and want to bring their families (...) or people who are fleeing Ukraine and want to come to Portugal".
