Domingos Cruz, CCA ONTIER's Managing Partner, spoke to Jornal de Negócios about the influence of the positive economic environment, from which the country benefited in 2017, for the legal services. The good indicators in the area of employment or the reduction of the public deficit are among the aspects that most positively influenced the business activity in the country and, consequently, the market of legal service providers.
'The high number of foreign investors who have seen our country as an investment option in the most varied areas,' says Domingos Cruz, 'is a clear sign of investor confidence in the country's economy, which was reflected in the significant increase in the activity of legal services in Portugal'.
Among the most active legal fields during 2017 are the real estate sector, the area of mergers and acquisitions or litigation in the labor and tax sectors. 'We have been involved in real estate operations, M&A, as well as assisting companies in opening the business in Portugal. We have also been very active in the Brazilian market, especially in the case of private clients. There have been a number of investments in Portugal from customers from Colombia, and we have also been tracking numerous foreign start-ups to establish themselves in Portugal, 'says Domingos Cruz.
