In recent months, there have been numerous lawsuits against companies such as OpenAI, owner of ChatGPT, over the training of artificial intelligence models and the amount of data they use. Speaking to SapoTek, Eduardo Magrani, Senior Consultant in the TMT area at CCA Law Firm, talks about the problem of AI access to copyrighted content and whether or not this operation constitutes a lawful reproduction of the work.
“By demanding greater transparency and minimum compliance levels for generative AI models with the AI Act, Europe is also sending a message at this level and indicating that there will have to be greater clarity about the type of material that is used to train the models,” emphasises Eduardo Magrani.
