Pedro Simões de Oliveira, Senior Associate of the Corporate/M&A Department of CCA, spoke with Observador about the need or not to declare for IRS purposes platforms and cards as the Revolut, N26, and Paypal.
According to this CCA lawyer "The Paypal case is quite interesting because it has a banking license in Europe (registered in Luxembourg). However, at least if we refer to the Portuguese reality, this banking license is not used, that is, the services that are provided are only payments, although it is registered with Banco de Portugal as a credit institution (as opposed to Revolut, which is electronic currency)".
