Henrique Salinas, CCA's Partner responsible for the Criminal Law & Compliance area, talked to TVI about the EDP case, regarding the Public Prosecutor's request for the suspension of António Mexia and Manso Neto. However, doubts remain as to whether the Public Prosecutor can ask for the suspension of a manager of a private company.
According to the CCA’s Partner, for the application of a coercive measure to António Mexia, it will be necessary that certain conditions are met, such as "the risks of escape, or the pursuit of criminal activities or damage to the investigations. It is necessary to demonstrate that the continuation of the exercise of the functions constitutes a specific danger for one of these circumstances - only then can this measure be applied".
