In response to growing concerns over housing and tourism dynamics, Portugal’s government has recently revised the rules governing Short-Term Rentals.
The updated Mais Habitação program now allows municipalities more freedom in issuing new licenses and makes it easier for licenses to transfer with property sales.
In an article for the The Portugal News newspaper, Maria do Rosário Tavares de Pina, Associate in CCA's Real Estate Department, states: "These adjustments aim to promote the growth of the Short-Term Rental sector and alleviate pressures on local entrepreneurs."
