With the provisional agreement reached in December 2023 on the new Artificial Intelligence Act (AI ACT), better conditions have been secured for the safety and transparency of AI updates in Europe.
In an article for RH Magazine, Pedro Antunes, Partner in the Labour department at CCA Law Firm, analyses the impact of the new AI Act, specifying the importance of the Sandbox in controlled and responsible experiments with AI technologies in the labour market.
“Sandboxes are essential to enable controlled and responsible experiments with AI technologies, while ensuring that privacy, ethics, and data protection issues are carefully considered. The focus of these initiatives will be on the responsible development of AI, while protecting the rights of individuals and employees,” says the CCA partner, adding that “(...) companies wishing to use Artificial Intelligence in the assessment or hiring of employees will be able to test whether these criteria are reliable before putting them into practice.”
