Pedro Antunes, Partner and Coordinator of the CCA Labour Department, and Vicente Zagallo Garcia, an associate of the CCA Labour Department, in statements to LUSA, explain the limits of the control of teleworking activity, alerting to the possibility of abuse by employers.
In order to ensure that maximum working time limits are not being exceeded, companies "can use applications that allow recording the working time of their workers", explain the lawyers.
However, Pedro Antunes and Vicente Zagallo Garcia stress that "it is illegal and prohibited to use technologies for monitoring activity, namely open applications or visited Internet pages, as this involves the use of surveillance means to monitor the professional performance of workers".
