Tomás Assis Teixeira takes part in the panel ‘Investing in Portugal: The Investment Funds Route’
Tomás Assis Teixeira, Real Estate partner at CCA, took part in the panel ‘Investing in Portugal: The Investment Funds Route’, which took place on the 24th during the Investment by Global Citizens conference, organised by Bison Bank.
During the event, one of the main topics was the impact of the recent changes in residence permit policies for investment activities, known as golden visas, and the abrupt end of the non-habitual resident framework.
Quoted by Jornal de Negócios, Tomás said that the sector and the country ‘are trying to recover from the reputational damage that was caused in 2023’ after ‘successive announcements and the back and forth of legislative changes’, referring to the end of the ARI programme and the non-habitual resident framework.
However, he was optimistic when he said that ‘Portugal is easily sellable’ and continues to be an attractive destination for foreign investors, highlighting the competitive factors that the country continues to offer to those who want to invest in it.
The event was attended by several Portuguese management companies and opened by the Minister for the Economy, Pedro Reis, who emphasised the importance of attracting human and financial capital to Portugal.
