Tomás Assis Teixeira, Coordinator of the Tourism and Leisure area of practice at CCA, writes an opinion piece for Jornal de Negócios, on the need to provide the tourism sector in Portugal with the necessary tools to enable it to be, again, the protagonist in the post-COVID-19 crisis.
"It is essential that the Government seeks to contribute positively to the growth of this confidence curve (this curve can in fact have an exponential growth) and to take concrete measures that attract people and investment, thereby helping to strengthen tourism businesses and operators. To legislate little, to legislate well and, in some cases, simply not to legislate", says Tomás Assis Teixeira.
As regards the path to trace to (re) design the role of tourism in the post-COVID-19 period, the Coordinator of the Tourism and Leisure area of practice adds that "the challenges that Portugal is facing to overcome this storms are great. Only by thinking outside the box, seeking to boost and enhance everything that our country has to offer, will we succeed. This is the way!".
