Maria Barbosa, Managing Associate of the Labour Department, wrote an opinion piece for Observador on the new State of Emergency and the new measures adopted, namely traffic restriction, dissecting the main upcoming problems and sectors that will be most affected.
"The current bans go far beyond restricting the movement of citizens on public roads, which puts companies in a situation of imminent disaster", explains Maria Barbosa.
"On the other hand, it is indisputable that the measure to limit traffic on public roads will further stifle small commercial enterprises which hoped that the Christmas period would contribute to a slight financial recovery in their activity", she adds.
