The fight against pay discrimination, which often occurs between men and women, has entered the European Union's agenda with the approval of Directive 2023/970, which imposes rules on pay transparency. In an interview to Polígrafo, Camila Marques de Queiroz, an Associate in the Labor practice at CCA Law Firm, explained this new directive and the instruments available in the Portuguese legal framework to combat one of the typical problems of gender inequality.
According to Camila Marques de Queiroz: "Pay transparency can in fact promote greater pay equality as workers can only react against discrimination if they are aware of it".
