The COVID-19 outbreak has led to the adoption of various contingency measures by the Portuguese government, namely, the closure of the face-to-face service of the Immigration Office (SEF), from March 27th to May 4th.
This closure meant that many foreign citizens, holding residence permits, were prevented from renewing their residence permits at the Immigration Office delegations, a situation that is expected to be maintained until June 30th.
