The operation of online gambling and betting begins the first quarter generating about 158.6 million euros of gross revenue, resulting in an increase of 23.6% if compared to the same period of 2021.
In accordance with the statistics data recently shared by the Gaming Regulation and Inspection Service, the operators collected on the first quarter of 2022 a total of 80.9 million euros in gross revenues wit the operation of games of chance, an increase of 5.5 million compared to the previous quarter and 22.1 million compared to the same period of last year. The revenues generated through the operation of games of chance also reveal the preference of players in the national market for slots.
In what concerns fixed-odds sports bets, the gross revenue for the first quarter of 2022 is equivalent to 77.7 million euros, being that Football continues being the sport with the highest volume of bets with 69.88% of the total of sports bets made, followed with a large difference by Tennis (12.38%) and Basketball (12.36%).
