Decree-Law No. 42-A/2022, of June 30, comes into force today. It provides for the extension until December 31, 2022, of documents and visas related to stay in national territory, whose validity has expired since the date of entry into force of Decree-Law No. 10-A/2020, of March 13, as amended, or within the 15 days immediately preceding.
Thus, all documents whose validity period expired after February 24, 2020 must be accepted as valid until December 31, 2022, in Portugal.
After December 31, 2022, as long as the holder proves that he/she has already scheduled the respective renewal, the documents and visas related to the stay in national territory should be accepted in Portugal.
