Approves the Legal Framework for Online Gaming and Betting
The Decree n.º 14.463 of December 3rd, 1927 publication put an end, in Portugal, to an already secular tradition of banning gaming. In fact, the Civil Code of 1867, provided that "the contract of gaming is not allowed as a way of acquisition". Moreover, the Criminal Code of 1886, also criminalised the activity of exploiting gaming, the gambler profession, and casual gaming.
